Robert Frost was a Yeoman of Whepstead although by the time of his death in 1630 he was living in Great Barton. He asked to be buried in Whepstead churchyard and left 40s to the poor of the village to be distributed on his burial day. He gave to his son Abraham and Abraham's wife Mary and to their heirs 20 acres freehold land 'called Gatefield and Geddings in Brockley and Whepstead'. To his daughter Judith and her husband Samual Allen he left his 'messuage in Whepstead near Dunston Street in which Thomas Hynes now lives with the land belonging to it".
